Wow!

Here I am again, hardly ever posting!

If it helps, I do wish I could post more often. I have realized in the last two months that having a child that is mobile is a handful! I was spoiled when she didn't crawl or walk! I'm lucky now if I can get on the computer once a day, and that normally consists of a quick check of the email and facebook accounts and I'm done!

Life in our house seems to be nuts! Even right now, I should be sleeping, but I am being selfish and spending a little 'me time' on the computer. It's kind of amazing to just sit in a quiet house and catch up on friends' pictures on fb, or the caringbridge website for J's cousin's little girl who was born almost seven weeks early.

J is busy as ever with work. This year has been like none other. That is great for the business, but makes the home life a little harder. I keep telling myself it will all be worth it this winter, but some days are a little tougher. He is still hoping to fill up the calender a little more for this fall. That would mean we would be able to build our garage, and not need to use that money saved up for anything else!

Our little A is not so little anymore! She's our 'big girl' now! With long little legs and golden blond hair that is finally starting to fill in, she's just too cute. And I'm her mom, so even when those golden locks are covered in spaghetti sauce I still think she's the cutest! :)

She's going to be 16 months in a few weeks! Wow! Where has the time gone?!?! Its so fun to watch her learn new things every day. She's definitely an independent little girl who gets mad if you don't let her hold the yogurt container (which means I clean up a lot of yogurt on the floor...) but it's so fun to watch her learn and explore her boundaries. She's pretty good about listening when she is told 'No' which I am so thankful for. I have decided I am going to start young and try to be as consistent as I can when it comes to teaching her how to be respectful. It is a big job! But I am thankful that she knows that she needs to listen to mom. There have been a few times where my stern voice is to stop her from doing something dangerous. I'm glad she listens, and isn't one of those little ones who looks at you, smiles, and keeps on with their actions. Hopefully she continues on that track!

I have a long list of things I would love to be doing... reading a book, catching up on two years of scrapbooking, sewing, even cleaning parts of my house that I tend to put off... but I find myself at the end of most days plopped down on the recliner after I've put A to bed, watching a little TV. I do need to sew some bibs though!! I can't find two of A's three good (big) bibs!

And so many fun events have happened to people around me lately! I guess that doesn't really keep me busy, but it's a part of life that I love! Two of my closest friends have each gotten engaged this summer, one from high school and one from college! And I've been waiting for both proposals! A bunch of women who were pregnant the same time that my sister and I were are all pregnant again which is so fun to hear about. I've been to two baby showers and a wedding shower in the last month which always makes for good girlfriend time! And our next few weekends are stacked up with a visit from Uncle A and Auntie J, a makeup party at Grandma Nana's, a wedding, J's fun weekend (a guy's weekend each year) and plenty of hours spent playing in the yard and on the swing set!

Before I know it I'll get to be putting up my fall decorations!!! YAY!!! I know most of you probably want to punch me for being so excited for summer to be over, but fall is my FAVORITE! Beautiful colors, unboxing the sweaters, playing in the leaves (real ones this year for A, not silk ones!) and having my husband around more!!!

Speaking of the hubs, I can hear him snoring in our room... reminding me it's way too late for me to be on the computer and I should end my August version of a Christmas letter update! :)

Thanks for sticking with me if you've actually read all of this! Hope you're having a great week!

  1. I read it all! Way to go A! She sounds like a good little girl. M, on the other hand is definitely "one of those little ones who looks at you, smiles, and keeps on with their actions". Stinker! : ) I can't wait to see pics of A with hair!!
