Sniff, Sniff... Cough.

I'm sick. And so is A. :(

My little A got a little head cold a week ago, which blossomed into a fun ear infection with a little croup to keep us on our toes.

Normally I would be okay with this. Of course it is no fun to have a sick little one, but normally I can take pretty good care of her and keep up with everything else. But not when I'm sick too. It takes everything I've got to take good care of her. Thankfully I've got a good hubs who does as a pretty good job taking care of us.

Oh! In case you didn't see J's fb page, our dog Duke was hurt. J was drilling through the handle of a knife blade and the drill bit caught it wrong and flung the knife across the room. It sliced right into Duke's right front leg severing the main artery. I was upstairs with A and I heard J shouting frantically for me to come to the basement.

As soon as I got down there and saw all the blood I immediately came running back upstairs, grabbed some towels and ran back down there again. I got some towels and all the pressure I could on the wound and sent J upstairs to start making calls. Of course it happened to be a Sunday night so no vets were open, but after twenty minutes of calling different emergency vet numbers we finally heard back from one about half an hour away from us.

During that time our neighbor came over to get A and took her back to her house. J and I got Duke out to the car and sped down to the vet. J was so sure he was going do die, he was just a wreck.

The vet did an awesome job putting him back together. He stitched together the artery and a few other veins, he stitched together the muscles, he stitched together the fat layer and then the skin. So many stitches. But most of them will just dissolve. We have to go back in two weeks to get the ten or so that are on the outside taken out.

We're so thankful he's okay. He really is part of our family.

J said he's never making knives again. It was just inches away from hitting Duke square in the chest. It could have hit J, or even worse, if A had been downstairs it could have been her.

Thank God everyone's going to be okay!
