A morning in our house...

I have grown to love mornings with my sweet little A since we got home from our trip. She's still totally screwed up with her sleeping and a lot of days her napping is terrible, but mornings are sweet.

She starts to talk through her thumb any where between 7 and 8:30. I know she's not going back to sleep but she's still tired. So I go and get her and we go and snuggle on the couch for anywhere from half an hour to an hour. She just lays on my belly and plays with my hair, or plays with my earrings, or sometimes even falls back to sleep for a few minutes.

I know she's ready to be done when she wants to sit up and then starts reaching for the floor. So then I stand her up next to the couch. She just stands there, or walks up and down along the couch and talks. I like to think she's telling me about her night, or what we're going to do today. :)

Then she has breakfast in the living room. I gave up on the high chair for breakfast because I realized that if she can be cruising along the couch and just take bites of her yogurt as she will eat about twice as much. As compared to if she's in the high chair and she's just wanting to get out so she can play.

After she finishes her breakfast, she goes into her walker for a little bit. That's my chance to get a load of laundry switched or some dishes done. Then there is some play time and then ideally she takes her first nap. Of course today, as I was typing this, she was just crying in her nursery and so now she's out playing with her toys again, but she will go down for a nap sometime...

Anyway, mornings are sweet with my little one. It's just one more thing that makes me so thankful that I get to stay home with her.
