Fun!

My little A and I went to a parade today! 'Summerfest' is going on in PR, so there was a parade today, duck races in the river, pig roast and street dance tonight and a pancake breakfast tomorrow morning. I don't know how many of the activities we'll actually go to, but the parade was fun. A seemed to enjoy it. And I found out there's another parade next Saturday in a neighboring town.

It was fun to be out and enjoy our tiny little community. I got to spend some time with a few people I know in town here and will hopefully see them at the next parade too.

I'm working on planning an anniversary party for J's grandparents. Yesterday was their 50th wedding anniversary. I think that's so awesome! I'm trying to decide if I'm going to hire a caterer, or if I'm going to cook the food myself and hopefully get some help serving and cleaning up. I think it would be a lot cheaper if I did the cooking myself, but it would be a lot less stressful to have someone else do the cooking and cleaning up.

Any advice? :)

  1. First, I like the new look. Second, if you want it to be less stressful for food, depending on how many you are serving perhaps you could make small batches of things and freeze them. Even cooked meat can freeze okay I think. Then you could put it in a couple large crock pots or roasters ahead of time. But it depends on what you want to serve and how much freezer space you have. But since we are coming up to another hunting season I thought it may be a bit more empty. ;)
    Love you!
