The party was a success! We had a really fun evening. Lots of food (and now lots of left overs!), fun presents, a good game of "Battle of the Sexes" and a not so frozen ice cream pie. :)
A handled the party pretty well. She even let one of our employees hold her for about five minutes, which is practically a record these days! That little stinker is still in the throws of what EJ called "Stranger Danger!" when her little one was dealing with it! According to the books, it can last until about 11 months. I sure hope it doesn't last that long, but I know it might be more intense for A than some other babies because it's not uncommon to go a week with out seeing anyone except mom and dad. (Can you tell I don't leave the house much?)
Today is a day of (some) rest. I actually have a lot of packing to do so we can head down to J's mom's house tomorrow. I have to run to the mall this afternoon to get the last couple presents that I somehow either forgot about when I was shopping or somehow overlooked. So that will take a few hours (over an hour just to drive to and from the mall) but I would like to get it done, rather than plan on stopping on our way to the cities tomorrow.
It will be fun to be at J's mom's. We haven't been there since the end of June. That's embarrassing. But they were up here a few times, so we have seen them since then, just not at their house. We'll get to see one of S's hockey games, if not two of them, and one of C's varsity hockey games. I'm also getting together with my roommates from my last two years of college on Saturday morning!!! Yay! One of them hasn't gotten to meet A yet because she had to go and move all the way out to the east coast a few years ago. :)
It's hard to believe that tomorrow is going to be the beginning of A's first Christmas celebrations! I know she'll care more about the boxes and bows, but it will still be fun. :)
We'll be back home for most of next week. We'll celebrate with J's dad, Great Grandma B, Great Grandpa K, and Great Great Grandma H on Christmas eve and Christmas Day for lunch. On Christmas morning we'll open presents at our house with J, A, Grandpa J and myself. That should be fun! Then hopefully we'll leave late on the 25th to head to my parents to celebrate there! So much fun we'll have!
